PERSPECTIVES ON TERRORISM
Hours: 15 hours
Course description: Perspectives on Terrorism is a course designed to augment a career in biology, chemistry, public health, nursing, or medical fields. Through this course the student is introduced to the history of the use of terrorist agents within both the context of war and against the civilian population. Response perspectives are addressed and the psychological aspects of threatened or actual events are also addressed.

BIOLOGICAL AGENTS OF TERRORISM
Hours: 30 Hours
Course description: Biological Agents of Terrorism is a course designed to augment a career in biology, chemistry, public health, nursing, or medical fields. Through this course the student is introduced to the various biological agents of concern to the CDC and the USDA and the diseases they cause. Haz-Mat Response, Public health intervention, containment and eradication issues, and proactive measures are also addressed.

CHEMICAL AGENTS OF TERRORISM
Hours: 30 Hours
Course description: Chemical Agents of Terrorism is a course designed to augment a career in biology, chemistry, public health, nursing, or medical fields. Through this course the student is introduced to the various chemical agents of concern to the CDC and the USDA and the diseases they cause. Haz-Mat Response, Public health intervention, containment and eradication issues, and proactive measures are also addressed.

SECURITY AND DETERRENTS TO ACTS OF TERRORISM
Hours: 30 Hours
Course description: Security and Deterrents to Acts of Terrorism is a course designed to augment a career in biology, chemistry, public health, nursing, or medical fields. Through this course the student is introduced to protocols used to review facilities/locations in order to help mitigate the possibility and minimize the effects of a terrorist incident. During the course of the instruction the students are tasked with completing an Emergency Response Plan for a facility/location of their choosing using the provided resources.

DETECTION, MONITORING AND SAMPLING FOR AGENTS OF TERRORISM
Hours: 30 Hours
Course description: Monitoring and Sampling for Agents of Terrorism is a course designed to augment a career in biology, chemistry, public health, nursing, or medical fields. Through this course the student is introduced to current technology for the detection of chemical and biological agents. Precision, accuracy, validation, specifity, sensitivity, limitations, and reliability of both field and laboratory units are addressed. Sampling requirements and protocols for both chemical and biological agents from solid, liquid and vapor samples is also addressed.
